in early 2001 raphael saadiq stopped by zanzibar on a sunday night with my friend erika , at the time garth trinidad and i had started our weekly residency there....it was jumping off every sunday night
ray liked what i was playing and we exchange info...i went a few days later to meet him at his studio and played him a bunch of new beats from spacek ...he went nuts....and we started entertaining the idea of making a record .
he flew the boys in and we started spending times at his studio and making beats and laying that shit down...and then wait for ray to come thru and lay vocals ...he eventually did and a few tracks were recorded and they are dope , but not finished and raw..just like i like them...
i could go on forever about why the record never came out and what is wrong with the music industry these days but that would take too long ..i eventually will get into it though

first track is pookie blue room which was the name raphael picked for the album , it features q tip , fonzworth bentley ,raphael saadiq and steve spacek .
they dont know you is the second track i ve included and it features common raphael and ledisi
both tracks are produced by steve spacek.
